We had a very nice walking day on Wednesday the 17.4.24 as we were blessed with good weather and some sunshine! 

14 of the Burton Fellwalkers walked from Austwick through open meadows to Oxenber Wood, where we admired the abundance of Primroses, Wood Anemones and the first Bluebells and Early Purple Orchids, just opening. Continuing down the quiet road to Elaine’s Cafe where we could sit outside enjoying some refreshments before taking the bridle way back to Austwick passing lambs and lush and yellow celandine meadows. The walk was about 5 miles long with 570 ft of ascent.
